So, I had witnessed to a young man who worked at the Starbucks in Kroger grocery store. I went to get a couple of drinks for my wife and I and just asked him questions about salvation. I asked him first, "What is God doing in your life?" And he kinda looked sad and said that he has been pretty lazy. I shared the gospel to him again and asked him when he was going to repent and believe? He said "As soon as possible"
I said "You said the same thing 3 weeks ago"
He said he had committed some very big sins, but not since we talked, but he was convinced he was a pretty bad sinner and wasn't sure if he was going to heaven, when I asked him if he was going to heaven, he said "probably not."
I explained Christ to him again asked him if he understood repentance. He kind of nodded, so I explained it like this: Repenting is not only a turning away from evil and wickedness it is a turning toward Jesus Christ. I'm not just a bad person becoming a good person, I'm a bad person converting to a person who is emphatic about Jesus Christ.
He understood.
